Report: Safety Adams on his way to New England 03.03.09 at 5:20 pm ET

According to reports, safety Mike Adams is on his way to New England for a meeting with the Patriots. Green Bay hosted the free agent visit Tuesday.

When contacted late Tuesday afternoon by WEEI.com, Adams’ agent Peter Schaffer wouldn’t comment on a possible meeting with the Patriots, but told Packer Report Adams had a great meeting with Green Bay management, and the next stop on their itinerary was New England

“He’s on his way to the Patriots right now,” Schaffer told Packer Report on Tuesday. “He was very impressed with the organization, the people, the coaches, the facility, and he’s now on his way to New England.”

The  5-foot-11, 195-pound Adams was an undrafted free agent out of Delaware who signed with San Francisco in 2004 and started 18 games over the next two seasons with the Niners. He moved on to Cleveland in 2007, and played in 29 games the last two seasons with the Browns. The 27-year-old has seven career interceptions, including two last season and four in 2005.
