FOXBOROUGH — The Patriots just wrapped up a morning walkthrough down here at Gillette Stadium.
•Not much news to report — the entire session was held under a hot sun, with another sparse crowd in attendance. Players were in t-shirts and shorts for the duration of the session. No one was traded and no one keeled over from the heat.
•The focus appeared to be on situation football — with the second game of the preseason looming on Thursday against the Bengals, New England was in prep mode for most of the morning, with the focus clearly being on Cincinnati. There was extensive work on both sides of the football, as well as special teams, but there was no specific focus on one particular area.
•A handful of players stopped and spoke with the media, including wide receiver Wes Welker, defensive lineman Richard Seymour and running back Laurence Maroney. We had a handful of questions for Seymour about the state of his game, his assessment of the 2009 training camp and whether or not his role changes when New England operates out of a 4-3 defense. We’ll have a story up on No. 93 later on in the day.
