WEEI.com has confirmed that inside linebacker Eric Alexander has made the final 53-man roster, while fellow inside linebacker Paris Lenon has been told he has been released by New England.
The 27-year-old Alexander, an LSU product, was thought to be in a position battle with Lenon for that spot, and appears as though he has come out on top. Alexander, who was signed by the Patriots as a rookie free agent in 2004, has spent five seasons with New England, playing primarily as a backup inside linebacker and on special teams.
