With the 6 p.m. deadline for cuts looming, news about who has made the 53-man roster and who has been cut loose is starting to leak out. Defensive back/wide receiver Ray Ventrone, linebacker Paris Lenon and wide receiver Terrence Nunn have been informed they have been released, according to news first reported on Boston.com. In addition, cornerback Jamar Love has been let go as well, which was initially reported by The Boston Herald. It has also been reported — which has been confirmed by WEEI.com — that offensive lineman George Bussey will go on injured reserve.

The Patriots must made 13 cuts to get down to 53 before the 6 p.m. deadline.

On the surface, it would appear New England is hoping to get Nunn through to the practice squad. The rookie receiver had an excellent preseason, finishing with eight catches for 133 yards. He was also utilized in the kicking game, with six returns for a total of 119 yards.

Around the league, some notable cuts included Philadelphia saying farewell to fullback/defensive tackle Dan Klecko and New Orleans parting ways with backup quarterback Joey Harrington. More to come……
