Here are some of the early quotable comments following a 16-9 Jets win over the Patriots Sunday at the Meadowlands.

Bill Belichick: ”It’s a tough loss today, it always is in the division. Give the Jets credit. They just did a better job than we did today. I really don’t think there’s a whole lot more to say about it. They just outplayed us and out-coached us and just performed better than we did over the 60 minutes and I think that was pretty much the story of the game. We had our chances and we didn’t take advantage of them. They had their chances and they did. That’s why it ended up the way it did.”

“We didn’t do a good enough job.”

“I think we were ready to go. They just did a better job than we did.”

Tom Brady:”I don’t think the wristbands had anything to do with our execution.” Brady on receivers using wristbands to aid with no-huddle.

“I think Revis is a good player. I think Randy’s a great player. We’re not really firing on all cylinders right now.” Brady on offense.

“A lot of things are correctable. We had high expectations for this game.” Brady on the loss.

“We tried to go hurry-up the whole game. We had opportunities. That’s two weeks in a row that we weren’t very good in the red area.” Brady

Randy Moss: ”You’ve got to give credit when it’s due and they did a helluva job today.” Moss on the Jets win.

“At the end of the game, we kept going backwards.” Moss on the lack of a TD from the offense.

“They backed it up and you really have to commend those guys.” Moss on the Jets backing up their bravado this week.

Mark Sanchez: ”I felt for Tom today. It looks like you’re playing against 20 people.” Sanchez on the Jets blitzing of Brady today.

“It was so loud in here, so loud. We’ll cherish this win for a couple of hours and then get ready for the Titans.” Sanchez on the win.

“I don’t know what a rookie is supposed to feel like. We haven’t arrived yet.” Sanchez on the win.

Rex Ryan:”We’re playing like Jets, the whole football team is. It took everything we had.” Ryan on the win.

“We played like Jets and that was good enough today. That was the best quarterback in the league and the best coach but we were the better team”
