| Highlights from Randy Moss Q&A, 9/20 | 09.20.09 at 5:30 pm ET |
Here are a few highlights from Randy Moss’s postgame Q&A
How much of it was lack of execution on your part and how much was execution on their part?
I think that the Jets had a good game plan. You have to have a winner and you have to have a loser, but we didn’t execute. At times, we stalled. We kept going backward instead of going forward. And when the offense is on the field, you want to move forward and put points up on the board, and the whole unit, we didn’t do that today. You have to give credit to the Jets – there’s no sugar-coating it or trying to feel sorry for yourself. They won the game, they beat us. And that’s it.
Is Darrelle Revis one of the toughest corners you’ve gone up against?
No. All week, he was talking about how he was a shutdown corner, but there are really no shutdown corners in the league because they have help for most of the game. I mean, I could probably play corner if I had Meriweather over the top for the whole game – I think could be a shutdown corner. You have to give credit where it’s due. I’m not taking anything away from them, their whole defense – secondary, d-linemen, linebackers included – made plays. We didn’t get things done. You have to give credit where it’s due, and they did a helluva job today.
On any surprises from the Jets defense…
Any surprises? No, not really. I think that the biggest thing was just having Coach Ryan and bringing his defensive philosophy to the Jets. Like I said, man, you have to give credit where it’s due. I’ve been in this league long enough, and they played some good football today, even on offense and special teams. We did some bad things out there, we did some good things. But overall, the Jets won. You have to tip your hats to them. I really give them credit today.
Any frustration setting in? This is two straight weeks where the offense has sputtered.
Um, I think that the frustration sets in when we know that we stick our ownselves in the foot. Like I said, the defense, they do their job – they have a job to do, and that’s stop the offense. The offense has a job to do and that’s to go out there and put points on the board. So with the firepower that we’ve got, and we prepare every week, it is a little frustrating. I’m not going to sit here and lie. But at the same time, when things go bad, you’ve got to find ways to win. Toward the end of the game, we kept going backwards as a whole offensive unit. We didn’t make anything happen. Like I said, you have to give credit, and that’s the biggest thing. You have to tip your hats to him, because they played a helluva game.
Any difficulty of the execution with the plays on the wristband, going to that this week?
No. It really felt pretty good. I’m speaking for myself. I felt good. There were times where things were a little shaky, but at the same time, we prepared. We practiced all week as to how we were going to game plan against this defense. We just didn’t make enough plays. We just kept going backwards, like I said. There’s nothing else to try to beat around the bush. They beat us up, and we just didn’t make enough plays.

revis shut him down, plain and simple. he was in man coverage all game, as evidenced by the play that resulted in an interception.
look at what andre johnson did in week 2. revis is a top 3, shutdown corner.

Dude, go find a trannie hooker somewhere in Jersey and stick three fingers in them until they scream “Call me Rex Ryan”
To win is one thing, to be a big enough loser to actually come on this website and try to anger people with your ramblings truly proves you Jets fans live in your parents basement….

I guess every once in a while you Jets fans get something to be happy about…Given you live in NY, have no stadium of your own, and have not won a meaningful game in 40 years, it makes sense this one means so much.
However, the teams play twice a year. And the Patriots tend to handle business differently the second time around…That will be interesting, for sure. In the meantime, enjoy the little piece of your life that does not suck. Your one victory over the Patriots in 10 years on your home field. Pathetic, at best.

Oh, and by the way, Revis is not that good. Really, he’s not. The only thing he and Rex can shut down is a buffet at Golden Corral.
Shut down corner? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Randy said it best, but I would also say that Rex Ryan could be a shut down CB with help over the top all game. Being in a double team on a WR all game does not make you good, or even close to a shut down guy. It makes you part of a two man team that played well. You are a moron Doug, just like every other Jets fan.
