| Jarvis Green confirms surgery | 11.03.09 at 12:22 pm ET |
FOXBORO — Patriots defensive lineman Jarvis Green spoke briefly with reporters this morning, and confirmed the fact that he did have surgery on his injured knee.
The 30-year-old, who has started all seven games for New England this season, did not elaborate on the situation. The news was initially reported by CSNNE.com, and various reports indicate that Green could miss up to a month of action.
More responsibility will likely fall on the shoulders of veteran backup Mike Wright, who said Tuesday morning that he’ll be “prepared.”
“I’m the utility guy,” Wright said. “Wherever the want to put me, I’ll be prepared.
“It’s tough to lose any player on the defense,” he added. “We’re going to let Jarvis handle his business and we’re going to take care of what we can on the field.”
