The Patriots have just announced they have released veteran offensive lineman Kendall Simmons. Simmons, 30, was signed by the Patriots on Sept. 6, and was active for just one game, Sept. 18 against Tennessee. The 6-foot-3, 315-pound Simmons was selected in the second round of the 2002 draft by Pittsburgh, but was released by the Steelers in the offseason before he joined New England.
