Faulk’s agent says Eagles would be ‘intriguing’ to veteran RB 03.09.10 at 9:18 pm ET
By Christopher Price

Interesting story from our buddy Jordan Raanan at CSNPhilly.com, who spoke with Kevin Faulk’s agent, Raymond Brothers, about the possibility of the veteran free agent running back signing with the Eagles. While Philadelphia has yet to reach out to Faulk, Brothers tells Raanan that the Eagles would be “intriguing” to Faulk because “they have a chance to win a Super Bowl.” Philadelphia has been in the market for a veteran running back since dumping veteran Brian Westbrook last week.

The 33-year-old Faulk has spent all 11 years of his professional career in New England and is one of only a few players left in the Patriots locker room who has played on all three Super Bowl championship teams. You would think that in the wake of the Patriots’ recent spate of signing their own guys — including Vince Wilfork, Leigh Bodden and Stephen Neal — Faulk figures to be the next Patriot in line for a new deal in New England.

The Boston Herald received a text message from Kevin Faulk that stated

that he did receive an offer from the Patriots.

I think that the Eagles could use Faulk in the passing game and the run becuase he used to doin that when he was with the patriots.

Betcha Faulk got a minimum offer from the Pats.

I don’t believe Philly will take a look at Faulk simply because he’s 33. Our FO isn’t interested in players over 30, case in point Brian Dawkins and Brian Westbrook. The Eagles currently have 3 RB’s and 2 FB’s on their roster. I can see them taking a bigger smashmouth type back somewhere between rounds 4-6 in this years draft.

Time for the Pats to let Faulk sign elsewhere. He’ll be 34 in June. Who was the last good 34 year old RB? Move Maroney to Faulk’s role – he can catch, run in open space, and adequately pick up the blitz, and get a feature RB.

Faulk is another one of those quiet leaders on this team that chooses his time and place to voice his thoughts. He was still one of the more productive RBs on the team last year. If you want to cut an old RB cut Taylor. Sign Faulk back though!!
