Welker made trip to Atlanta 08.17.10 at 9:59 am ET

Bill Belichick confirmed Tuesday morning that wide receiver Wes Welker did make the trip to Atlanta, but did not say if Welker would play in Thursday’s preseason game vs. the Falcons.

Belichick was asked on WEEI Monday if Welker would see any on-field action in the preseason.

“We’ll see how that goes,” Belichick said. “I wouldn’t rule it out, but I wouldn’t say it’s a definite either. We’ll just take it day by day, just like with everybody else.”

The Patriots will hold joint practices with the Falcons on Tuesday and Wednesday and Welker is expected to be a participant in those sessions.
