Jonathan Kraft: I hope Tom Brady was ‘conflicted’ about lawsuit 03.21.11 at 9:21 pm ET
By

Speaking at the league meetings in New Orleans, Patriots president Jonathan Kraft said he hoped New England quarterback Tom Brady was “conflicted” before he made the decision to be a part of the NFL Players Association antitrust lawsuit against the league.

“On a personal level, myself — and I think every member of my family — feels extremely close to Tom. I’d like to think Tom was conflicted before he made that decision, but you’d have to talk to Tom about it,” Kraft told reporters on Monday. “He obviously feels like, I guess, that he made a business decision that was the right thing for him. I’d like to think he was conflicted in making it, but I don’t know that. I haven’t talked to him about it, so he didn’t consult me when he was making it.”

Suck it up its just what you call buisness.

What’s to be conflicted about? The owner’s position is untenable.

THE NFL PLAYERS ASSOCIATION NEED TO MAKE SURE THAT PLAYERS IN THEIR LATER YEARS GET THE BEST TREATMENT FOR INJURIES THAT SHOW UP AND NOT FORGOTTEN. THIS SPORT HAS BIGGER PLAYERS THAN EVER BEFORE.

My personal feelings notwithstanding, I think what Robert Kraft is implying by that “conflicted” comment, is after you shell out $72 million (48Million guaranteed)for a player, that same player turns around and decides to be the poster boy for this suit against the owners in general, and Kraft in particular. Again, not siding with either of them here, just giving my $.02 on Kraft’s comment.

Thats your typical “corporate BS” comment by Kraft. Lets open up those books in Court Bobby……..Last 10 years……..What do you suppose we’re gonna find in there? And as for you Mark, Brady is doing this out of an obligation to all the other guys who don’t make that kind of money….and at positions where they may be injured for life. As usual, its a class move by him, not a pompous one.

It’s a business negotiation. Who ever “asks for less” in business? No one. Brady could easily say the same thing about Kraft. It’s a dumb comment in that it personalizes what is not a personal decision.

i agree with mark… it was jonathans comment and he is implying that maybe brady might have conflicting thoughts on being one of the highest paid players in the league and then turning around and sueing the league…its contradictory

and lee… the only reason they group as a union is so they can get leverage…to get more…more more more please without the please… if they were a true union all players salaries would be exactly the same…

players should get their heads out and get back and bargain…
