Adrian Clayborn the 20th pick 04.28.11 at 10:14 pm ET
By

The Buccaneers selected Iowa defensive end Adrian Clayborn 20th overall Thursday night.

Clayborn is not the most scheme-diverse guy. At under 6-foot-3 and 281 pounds, it’s 4-3 end or bust for Clayborn. Asked at the combine whether teams were talking about him playing linebacker, the very comical lineman paused and said, “I mean, jokingly.” If Gerald McCoy can step it up in his second season, this could be a feared defensive line.

    Marchmont!

  • Jose

Thank goodness boston never tried to trade rask.

  • Sicko

    Rollin’ Rollin’ Rollin…….

Tuukka time is here again boys.

  • Baker

That one where he stuffed Lucic was disgusting.

The kid can play….some smarter people than you and I have been making some good decisions on Causeway…I’m also very curious regarding the upcoming drama that’s sure to take place as they make a move or 2 come trading deadline…they have cap space and from what I’ve read, they are eager to improve their weakness….the power play…

  • NYCBruinsFan

Tuukka Rules!!!   Another great game on the road with Marchand and Krejci.  The Bruins did a great job shutting down Tavares and Moulson.  Got to love Bourque too.  He’s playing a good game lately and the scoring will come.

  • NYCBruinsFan

Who needs the power play. I hope Peter Chiarelli and the front office don’t make any deals come trade deadline. We don’t need anyone else, and the guys are playing well together. Why fool around with recipe if the dish is sweet enough. Go B’s.

  • NYCBruinsFan

The only thing that would have been better is if Thomas had reported to Long Island and was in net tonight to face the B’s.  Wonder if the fool is at home watching the game realizing the Bruins are better without his views.

You don’t know what you’re talking about. Thomas is the reason the Bruins won the Cup! Who needs the power play? They need a pure goal scorer. Why do u got to love Bourque? He has 3 points and the only reason he’s on the PP and suiting up every night is because he’s Rays kid! Wow, get a clue!

  • Uncle Buck

Tuukka makes it look easy.  Always in position.  The team is flying.  Strong and tough.  I’m not losing sleep over the PP.  It’ll show up eventually.  Let’s hope they keep rolling through the crazy schedule. Four games a week on tap.

at the same time the islanders had a few really good chances on Rask- so they could have made it a close game had Rask not made some great saves- the two short handed bids come to mind right off the bat

  • Bruinman86

Yeah, no kidding!  The one on Bergeron was just a matter of not lifting the puck on the tip in.  The downside of this game was the 0-4 powerplay..

  • Bruinman86

Rask has come in to his own this year.  Guess he’s was ready….

  • ILoveHockey

they didn’t have a pure goal scorer the year they won the cup- and now Marchand and Seguin are playing better than they did that year, Rask is playing as solid as Thomas did. I think the Redsoxs are the most recent example that just because you put a lot of big names together doesn’t mean you’ll have success. If they want to make a minor tweak that’s fine, but all and all this team is the best in the east thus far- who do you want to get rid of?

Although I agree that Bourque might get more of a chance to make the team because of fan popularity with the last name (by that I mean they probably why they signed him from Washington- not that he get a roster spot in Boston, that was due mostly to Caron not showing a whole lot when he was up the last couple and him being hurt at the beginning of the NHL season)- you really think he gets PP time because of it? that just seems silly to me, you think they are going to risk winning games to get Bourque an extra couple minutes on the PP- I don’t think you know what you’re talking about

  • Fab4ever

The dish needs seasoning…how much better cane they be if they actually instill some fear in the opposition when down a man? They don’t have to make a radical change…they did this when they won the cup. How did that turn out? They have a weakness…and it’s the power play. It needs to get better…..and it will be needed come playoff time…

  • NYCBruinsFan

TK, current stats don’t lie.  Both the Capitals and the Islanders have some of the highest Power Play percentages in the Conference and both teams are at the bottom of the Standings.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again….  I’d rather have 10 players with 10 goals each, than one ”pure goal scorer” scores 50+ goals a year.   Do the math….. The Bruins have depth and that’s more important!

As far as “Thomas is the reason we won the Cup!”, tell that to all the other Bruins players in Black and Gold.
