The Cowboys went for a flashy pick in Dez Bryant last year, but this time around they’re going with an offensive lineman in USC tackle Tyron Smith with the ninth overall pick.

Smith was reliable at USC, but he definitely will need to grow into his talents at the next level. We were all waiting to see just which tackle would be selected first. Turns out it’s Smith, and this allows a team like the Lions to sit back and wait for a guy like Anthony Castonzo to fall to them.
