Olindo Mare, Mason Crosby get paydays 07.27.11 at 3:29 pm ET
By

While money has been flying in the NFL the last two days, it hasn’t been limited to the bigger playmakers. A couple of kickers became richer on Wednesday, as mutliple reports have Olindo Mare inking a four-year, $12 million deal with the Panthers and Mason Crosby staying with the Packers on a five-year, $14.75 million deal.

Mare, who had spent the last three seasons with the Seahawks, will reportedly receive a $4 million signing bonus. He made five of seven field goals from between 40 and 49 yards last season, and made one of two attempted kicks from 50 or more yards.

Crosby was drafted by the Packers in the sixth round of the 2007 draft. He made eight of 10 field goals from between 40 and 49 yards last season, and made two of four attempted kicks from 50 or more yards.

Yes and no. Good for rest, not good for keeping sharp. A long break can lead to being a rusty team in the next round which can cost a game.

right on the $, some of our guys live on game after game. If you sit them to long they get lazy legs. They just arnt on the same speed as the rest.

  • Bruinman86

Not just that, but the timing on passes can be off and the team itself may seem out of sync. Although, I would be happy with a 5 or 6 game series.

I expect Toronto to come out flying in the next game. If the B’s can match their intensity, then the B’s will likely win based on Goaltending alone.

see the B’s need to not try to out skate Toronto, that is what happened in game 2. They need to chip and chase, grind, and check. Lucic is checking again what a difference in his game. Toronto will be flying hopefully right into the shoulders of our team and clean open ice hits.

    Is it 420 time already?

    Same with Kessell!!!

  • Fab4ever

And he’ll bounce right up and take numbers. Worry about your own teams and not ours.

One moron..not indicative of an entire fan base. I’d like to believe that Leaf fans are far above this…although you got to wonder about the idiot who runs the Jumbo-tron. To celebrate this clown might be a bigger sin…a real tough guy. Balls? Let’s see him wave that sign in Boston. That’s balls.

  • NYCBruinsFan

Let’s get it done tomorrow night. We need a back to back win to take a little pessure off. oh and Thanks to Don Cherry, I have wonderful memories growing up in the 70s as a Bruins fan.

  • http://twitter.com/Sportsbozo1 Charles Champagne

Yeah that might be true but it won’t be by Kessler!

  • BosFan

That sign was embarrassing not just to Toronto but to Canada as a whole….pure ignorance

  • Kennythelid

And the bad news for Kessel is that he’s still a p@##y.

  • Bill Harris

I agree.. He is always running away.

  • Norm DuBois

One of the best signs I’ve ever seen at the old Garden and that could be used again this year read like this: ‘It’s SPRING and the Leafs are falling!!!

If Bruins play their game it shouldn’t matter. The Bruins are far more suited for playoff hockey than Toronto. You build your team from the net out and that is where the advantages start for the Bruins in this series. I thought this would be over in five at most and I still feel that way.

Of course the Bruins have been inconsistent all year and tend to let up instead of double tapping to make sure.
