Report: Matt Leinart to sign with Texans 07.27.11 at 3:39 pm ET
By

Quarterback Matt Leinart has reportedly agreed to a two-year deal with the Texans, according to a tweet from John McClain. The signing would eliminate the chances of a Leinart-Pete Carroll reunion in Seattle.

According to a tweet from Adam Schefter, the deal will net the former Southern California star $5.5 million, with $3.75 million guaranteed.

Leinart signed a one-year deal with the Texans last September, but failed to take a snap in 2010. He will join Matt Schaub, Dan Orlovsky and rookie T.J. Yates as the four playcallers in Houston’s training camp.

I get pleasure from, cause I found just what I used to be looking for. You’ve ended my 4 day lengthy hunt! God Bless you man. Have a great day. Bye

Other articles online have comments claiming people are too sensitive to things. There’s Comedy Central Roast humor and then there’s being an evil a-hole.

  • Bruinman86

Yeah, I have no use for fans who beat others up because they root for the other team. It’s assault, plain and simple, regardless of the reason. It’s a frigging game for gods sake.

  • Otis

So what, its one tasteless idiot. Are all New England people similar to that “Crawfords a Monday” guy? Idiots exist everywhere. Flooding them with the attention they crave doesn’t really help the problem

  • ladyluvshockey

Yes the sign was in poor taste, VERY poor taste! The media and fans in the Toronto area have vocalized their displeasure and disappointment in that one fan. Some media personel have gone as far as to apologize to the people of Boston for this immature jackass’ sudden brain fart! It’s getting tiresome and down right shameful reading of the shananigans that have blemished this great game of hockey, thanks to the immature fans that are a few cards shy of a full deck and or those that can’t handle their booze! Either way, STAY HOME!! Please don’t grace us with your presence and stupidity! You probably never laced a pair of skates up therefore you don’t understand the game! ….sorry for the rant :-)

  • Paul Edward McLaughlin

    absolutely tasteless

  • cfn

Please, this is out of proportion, I see nothing wrong with what he did. I would never do that, but what does one expect from a hockey fan? I am from Boston, but live in California and my heart goes out to the victims but the media has made to much of the events. It was an emotional event for Boston and the people did great. Boston got a lot of attention from those events but if the guy wants to say his city is strong too, then why can’t he. It is a hockey game. Geez.

  • Troll Hunter

“.. but the media has made to much of the events.”

Really?!? Made too much out of a terrorist attack at one of the oldest and most famous world wide sporting events? Come on guy you might be “sick” of all the media coverage but tell all the people with lost love ones or limbs it’s no big deal.

BTW it’s not an issue for the Toronto fan thinking his city and team are “strong” it’s the fact he’s playing off the Boston bombing. He also even places the marathon ribbon(in Toronto colors) on the sign. Just not a smart or honestly compassionate thing to do IMHO. If a similar tragedy happened in Toronto and some joker showed up at the Garden I would think the same thing. I’m actually surprised no one at the game told him as much.

  • Dope Hunter

Not too bright north of the border eh?

  • antonio

Hats off to Troll Hunter……….You nailed it!

  • Bad Larry

    Troll Hunter nailed it.
If you were there and one of the first responders, you would know it not a joking matter of any kind. Very bad taste and on a sports note, not a good idea to poke the bear……

  • tired of dumb fans

You really dont get it do you, he wasnt referring to his city in the sign. Fool

  • tired of dumb fans

Sadly no one said anything because most dont disagree with the behavior. Most, not all.

  • cfn

I did not say it was no big deal, especially to the victims!! You miss part of the point about the media, but if you live in Boston it may be hard to understand.
I did not know about the ribbon actually. In this case I change my ipinion that he went over the line. But I still would not have a problem if it was just the phrase.

  • Anonymous

Well, he’s either clueless or classless. Either way, it’s really no big deal. Apparently the other 18,000 or so Toronto fans in the house showed they had more class and more clue than this guy. That being said, who cares? Maybe he’ll be there again tonight with the sing and we can kick their butts again. That’s what’s important after all. Go Bruins!

  • Tony

Learn about how the trend started before you spout off about other Canadians.

It was started years ago by the Islander fans during their series against Toronto.

Montreal fans just responded in kind. I’m still waiting for the Boston media to respond in kind about the cowardly attack against our fan. Looks like Boston is a city to be avoided by fans of other teams, and why bother visiting at all, Bruins are an indication of the quality of people inhabiting the area. Remember that our fans were harassed all game long, and by many others.

  • leafsfan

Well Toronto stronger has nothing to do with bombings but why hockey (or other sports are tied up with those bombings, YOU CAN HEAL OTHERWAYS), if you willing to tie it with sports ( gotta be strong to take critism) and what do you expect from toronto fans in return , toronto is stronger (hockey town)

  • Scott

If the Bruins are in indication of the people if Boston I guess that makes them winners.

  • artistseye

Canadian fans are typically ignorant. Look at Vancouver. How ignorant we’re they in the finals in 2011.

  • bruins33

I think the leafs fan has no respect for boston. What if a bomb blew up in toronto anf ther was teriffic toronto and then a b’s fan had a shirt that said terifficer boston
