A frustrated Gisele stands up for her man but rips Patriots receivers 02.06.12 at 3:42 am ET

INDIANAPOLIS — The frustrations of another Super Bowl loss spilled over for Gisele Bundchen as she left the luxury suites of Lucas Oil Stadium after her husband Tom Brady and the Patriots fell to Eli Manning and the Giants, 21-17, in Super Bowl XLVI Sunday night.

While making her way toward the elevator, Giants fans were harassing the supermodel, yelling, “Eli rules, Eli owns your husband.”

She responded to her entourage.

“You [need] to catch the ball when you’re supposed to catch the ball. My husband cannot [expletive] throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time,” she said in a video obtained by TheInsider.com. “I can’t believe they dropped the ball so many times.”

That was an obvious reference to Wes Welker, who dropped what would have been a first down on the Patriots’ next-to-last drive and would have likely sealed the win.

Aaron Hernandez also had a drop of a pass over the middle on the last drive of the game.

The video of Gisele’s outburst can be found here.

You know what….If her pretty boy husband didn’t f-up in the first play maybe they would’ve had a chance.  At least you have Prague Giselle.

  • CKL

You have got to be kidding me. I have never liked her haughty, elitist attitude (which is funny coming from someone whose “talent” is taking her clothes off for money) and now she does this? NO WAY TB would have liked this if he had heard it.

  • 386rocklandcounty

    TYPICAL PATS FAN

  • BeardedCTpatsFan

All she needed to say was “Yeah we’ll he’s still not f***ing this!” and she wins.

  • Anonymous

She’s right, her husband plays with scrubs that can’t catch.

  • Rilawman

Shut up Gisele!  If your husband put the ball where he was suppose to it would have been a TD.  Instead Welker gets blamed for not making an extremely difficult catch

  • Anonymous

The ball was in his hands, it just dropped out.

  • Anonymous

Not excusing what she said but the way the Giants fan heckles her are as much to blame.

  • Anonymous

It was a team loss.  The Giants are a better team.  But if she was looking for a single play that turned the game on end, it clearly was the too many men on the field penalty against the defense. As I said in a couple of posts prior to the game, I expected this fix.  The league and the network are about money and they, including the Pats, will make more because the team from NJ won.

  • Anonymous

She said it in the heat of the moment, I’m sure she regretted it 5 minutes later.  I’ve met Gisele – she’s a nice person, warm, friendly, not elitist at all. It’s not a bad thing to love your husband.

  • Eastview

She’s right. I’m sure she regrets saying it in the heat of the moment, but it is pretty pathetic that classless morons would harass her. The Patriots have Tom Brady as a quarterback and no good deep receivers.

  • Frank88

hey cokkswallower….typical pats fan…well she’s right….welker makes that catch we win…simple as that…why don’t you and the rest of the giant pukes go hang at the fan….that’s where alll you socalled giants pukes belong

  • MMASeaDog

Who cares what a Victoria Secrets model thinks about football? With her limited football knowledge she’s spouting off to support her husband. This is such a non issue. Let it die and move on.

  • Geetsolboy

Come on Giselle….Ochostinko was on the field to save the day for the Pats and provide your hubby with the threat they needed to free up Welker.

  • Djbeanisabafoon

she is 100% right. i said the same thing. but brady threw an inexcusable deep ball interception for the 2nd game in a row…. the safety thing was also inexcusable….

also there were 2 drops on 1st and 2nd downs on last drive…. WR needs to be addressed in the offseason, for sure… branch must go… honestly, ocho had one of the nicest catches of the game. why ocho wasnt there in the big mess at the end to catch the hal mary and only 2 TE were is a mystery….  i cant remember where i park my car sometimes, but i know have that same feeling i did in 1986 after the mets win….  this one really sucks….

u cant put this one on the defense. they kept them in the game… eli put the ball just where he needed to. nothing u can do about that…

watching the last plays unfolded, i wondered if brady would hook up with ocho on the bomb to come… brady deserves as much or more of the blame than does ocho for not getting on the same page as him…

its not inconceivable the same two teams play next year or the pats return to the super bowl again… but they have some holes to address for sure…

  • Flipfou

Count the drops:  Deion Branch not adjusting to a throw that was slightly tipped over the middle…Welker’s horrible muff on the 20 on the second to last drive…Hernendez had one too (though not as blatant) and then Branch also didn’t come back on a ball on the sideline.  Gisele should keep her mouth shut but she does have a point.  Think about David Patton, Troy Brown, the circa 2004 version of Deion Branch:  All would’ve made those catches.  Yet another wasted Super Bowl appearance for Brady & Belichek and that’s too bad:  can’t get back time.

  • Jpag99

bottom line- the #3 WR for the Giants made a big play and our #1 & #2 (Welker & branch) and TE (Hernandez) did not.

She just made me like her more.

  • Thisstinks

I hate to admit it, but she’s right!!!  She loves her husband and was frustrated!  Of all the times in the game for Welker and Hernandez to f’ing drop passes.

  • George

She’s right the receivers have to catch those….I could have caught those…..

  • Mercurymoon62

Shows a lack of respect for those low-life’s yelling a Gisele…..

Why can’t you morons realize she was responding to losers?

  • jj

What it comes down to is that E. Manning has playmakers on his team and Brady doesnt.

  • Rogereric_vt

Giselle is just realizing that the game her Tommy has to leave L.A. for six months out of the year is a much bigger deal than she realizes.  Bad news in the fashion world is kept hidden, but in major league sports, models just aren’t used to fans shouting “you suck.”  They are told they are washed up behind closed doors.  Welcome to a different big league, cream puff.

  • Bruno

For a professional players wife, she should have kept her comments to herself…..why cause animosity amongst her husband and the players and give fuel to the media??

  • Corey

She should probably just mind her business and not rip anyone for not catching the ball. Had Tom put the ball between Welker’s numbers, he would have had the first down and them some, and would have sealed the game, and we would be celebrating a championship.

  • Anonymous

For the wife of a professional player, she should have NEVER made that comment! This could make it tough for Brady and the players in the locker room. All she accomplished was that she gave the media more fuel. (just what they need?)

  • Anonymous

What a foolish article.  Brady’s wife is from another country and probably can’t relate to the moron sports fans in America (look at most of the posts in this forum- I rest my case).

Greco, you know anything about football?  You think the first play cost the Pats ‘a chance’ to win last night?   You’re an idiot…

  • Anonymous

    I didn’t know Brady’s wife was a stripper… another idiot poster…

  • eliWifeTomManning

yes giselle im afraid you now have to  share tom with  a real man of the house and he goes by the name of Eli manning.

  • anonymous

I’m with her on this one. Brady actually played a great game, especially considering the defense he was going up against. The difference in the game was that Eli’s recievers made the big plays at crucial moments and Brady’s did not.
I can’t believe people would criticize Gisele for this. She was understandably emotional after seeing her husband lose like that…if someone had said that to me, they’d be lucky not to get punched in the face.

  • abuse55

You can’t go to back to back championships and get your tail beat,,,And
to make it worse it was by the same guy in ELI,, Thats what separates
the GREATS like a Michael Jordan because  when he went to the big show
he WAS GOING to WIN THEM ALL,,

Alot of people go carried away
this pass week with the greatest talk when it came to Brady .. JUST STOP
IT,, What i take away from this game is if my  family life depended on
it and i had a choice right now between Eli  and  Brady to go win a big
game  I’m going Eli,,Putting up ONLY 17 points in this  game  doesn’t
qualify as CLUTCH,, Had the PATS lost this game 40 to 37  then  i
wouldn’t fault  brady in the least.

  • Really

A great comment by one of the brightest minds of our time.  Don’t worry, though, Gisele – alienating his team mates, passing the blame, and oversimplifying the loss is okay ’cause you’re pretty.  Now shut your mouth and let the grown ups talk.  Maybe you can find a gal pal and chat about how unfair it is when your spray tan is applied unevenly…

  • judgejudy

Eli manning was at the courts today in efforts to ADOPT Tom.   Eli will show the JUDGE that he has what it takes to be TOM FATHER.

  • AL34

The Giants were luck to get passed the 49ers with that blown forward progress call on Bradshaw where the whistle blows clearly after the ball is jarred loose.

  • Gennaro494

She is 100% right…what she suppose to say…Welker blew it!
I said the same thing when he dropped that pass..wasn’t the best pass but he had 2 hands on it..
stop hating on her..she speaks the truth…

  • Romie

OK for all you Brady and Montana comparison fools out there here are some stats for you and you make the decision who is better I know where my vote is going. All numbers are for career:
    QB rating:BRADY-96.4   Montana-92.3
    Games:Brady-161   Montana-192
    Total TD’s:Brady-310   Montana-293
    Yards:Brady-39979    Montana-40551
    Super Bowls:Brady-3    Montana-4
    MVP’s:Brady-2             Montana-2
    Comp.%:Brady-63.8       Montana-63.2
    INT’s:Brady-115             Montana-139
Brady is almost 3to1 ratio for TD’s to Int’s.Joe Montana is a hair over 2to1.Bottom line is numbers don’t lie.Brady is the best QB win or lose last nite to ever play the game.

  • Ted

Ball was right there. Hit Branch in the hands and Welker has made more difficult catches. 12 men on the field penalty and penalty that nullified Pats’ fumble recovery played much bigger roles than this BS about Brady’s inaccurracy.

  • James

Cannot blame her one bit. First, she was only speaking to the ones she was with. Not a public statement. Same things all of us were probably saying amidst our gatherings. “Catch the freaking ball”.
No one person is to blame for the loss.

  • The offense continues to choke

Shes right but only half right.  Her husband played like a pu$$ too.   He was just like he was the past 4 years in the postseason and thats unclutch and inconsistant.   Welker was WIDE OPEN for a walk in touchdown and Brady threw it 3 yards high and behind a 5′ 7” slot reciever.  Brady choked again, welker choked and is a goat. The whole offense choked.   Since 07, the Patriots offense played like garbage in 6 of the last 8 postseason games.  They were great in 07 vs Jax and great this year vs Denver.  They SUCKED in 07 vs SD, 09 vs Balt, 2010 vs NYJ, 2011 vs Balt, and 2011 vs NYG. The offense is 11 unclutch playoff chokers. So yes Giselle, the recievers sucked, but your husband sucked too.  Its time to spend money in the offseason on offense and trade UP in the draft.  Trade UP for Blackmon.  This offense NEEDS  big play WR to go with the TE’s

  • David

Not yet. Maybe not ever. Brady himself has admitted you can’t compare stats of the QBs of this era to the last one. Every rule favors the passing game in today’s NFL. When Montana played you could kill the QB and mug the receivers. There’s a reason Qbs today are putting up video game stats. Brady is truly one of the best ever, but to say he’s definitely better than Montana (or even a few others) is going too far. Montana was 4 for 4 in the Super Bowl (3 SB MVPs) and never even threw an INT in a Super Bowl game. Brady has lost two Super Bowls in a row, despite being favored each time. He might end up being the best, but today is certainly not the day to make the case. Who knows, maybe Eli passes them all?

  • innovator

That pick that Brady threw on the five yard line ended up being a great punt….You always, always throw to the tight end being covered one on one by the linebacker EVERY TIME!!! Gronk ,even though tall, may not be elite when it comes to jumping at the point of attack, and grasping the ball at its highest point…

A play here,a play there,,and we win….I will list the bigger issue, and a way that this loss couldve been prevented below..

      Defense was fine,,you got that….
I could go on and on about how not having outside and deep presence receivers were the single deciding factor in this game..What I mean,is that if we had the outside weapons from the outset of the game,,not only would they have been a factor making plays, but they would have pulled BOTH safeties of the giants away from the middle of the field and the short passes…Yes,that means on many plays,Welker,Gronk, and Hernandez wouldve been in signle coverage..Im pretty sure that number 12 can hit those guys in that situation…

We will acquire pass rush OLB that excel in the 3-4 scheme,,and we need two guys who can make plays downfield one on one drawing the safeties away from the middle of the field…

If you really think about it,,,because of the lack of common sense personnell decisions(giving Shaun Ellis 6.7 mil,,signing haynesworth etc..),and not having the right pass rush guys(OLB PASS RUSHERS) for the 3-4,and not having receivers outside that can make plays,,,we lost this game because our coach/gm was so overly cocky in his evaluation of our talent!! Anyone who had eyes could see during the Loss to the Jets in the playoffs last year, that we couldnt stretch the field, nor could we get to Mark Sanchez, thus making him look like Joe Montana…Why did we see this ,and belichick not see this???  His decisions in the spring during the draft, and during free agency, are what put us in a shorthanded position going into this game…the players can only play to their ability…You cant expect deion branch to make double moves and stretch the field, let alone ochocinco and eldelman doing this…Its up to the guy in charge to evaluate talent..

Folks,,Brady was fine,,the defense was fine,,,this loss was 1000% on Bill Belichick, and his stubbornness thinking he can always get it done with a bunch of ham and eggers, and ignoring glaring needs and deficiencies on our team…

  • innovator

JJ,,,,what people need to see,,is if Brady was traded for Manning straight up before the game, what would the score have been??? No way Eli can make all of those perfect throws with all of those double covered guys….You give Brady three guys who can stretch the field, and noone would ever, ever be talking about Rodgers,Brees,or Eli manning ever again, let alone Peyton Manning!!! You watch us go after at least two guys who can stretch the field and can actually catch the ball this spring..BB wont screw this up again!!
    @ca3f5085f635e6821a198a1ca39fab02:disqus

  • innovator

YOu think Brady’s numbers would have been slightly higher if he had Jerry Rice and John Taylor to throw to his whole career???

    Makes you think….

  • Anonymous

sorry, but brady plays in an era where you can’t breathe on the quarterback or receivers without getting flagged.

  • Chris

Well said….I said things after the lost ..I wish I didn…She feels it more being closer…so I guess I know what she means…

  • LT Wong

yeah…it was real classy of the Giants fan to taunt her husband. Some people need to get some perspective, you may be a fan but most of us are not actually a family member of a player. It is understandable that a Brazilian woman would take umbrage with some fat guy in a Giants shirt taunting her husband by saying that he is owned by another. That comment breaks so many cultural barriers that I cannot even begin to explain it to people on this forum. While it may have been best for Gisele to ignore the blubbering fool, it is also completely understandable. We should all have love ones like Giesele.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Aaron-Schain/865890500 Aaron Schain

shes right, even though Brady gave up that interception you still have to play well in the clutch, and in all honesty the patriots receivers choked in the clutch. Brady was throwing clean passes in the 4th,

  • Dalee96

Well, she’s right, but she shouldn’t had said that while she’s on camera. But, on the other hand, that was a private moment of emotion that should’ve never been shown to the world, as did the e-mail.
