Bill Belichick: Rookies haven’t proven anything

FOXBORO — Bill Belichick was probably waiting for somebody to ask about the rookies on Wednesday, three days after their first three draft picks combined for a strip sack, a fumble recovery for a touchdown and an interception.

Perhaps the biggest play of the Patriots’ Week 1 victory over the Titans came when 21st overall pick Chandler Jones stripped the ball from Titans quarterback Jake Locker, with 25th overall pick Dont’a Hightower scooping the ball up and running it six yards into the endzone in the second quarter.

When he was asked whether the rookies need to be reminded that they only played one game and to not dwell on the past, Belichick talked about them like they had cost the team a win rather than help deliver them one.

“Are you kidding me? They’ve played one game,” Belichick said. “I don’t think any rookie’s got all the answers after one game. I don’t think any experienced coach has the answers after one game either. I think it’s one game. Everybody needs to be coached, everybody needs to improve. There’s a lot of things that everybody needs to do better, and I would put the rookies at the absolute top of that list. Like, not behind anybody. They would be No. 1. It’s going to get a lot harder for them before it gets easier. I can tell you that.”

Reminds me of Parcells’ answer after Curtis Martin rushed for 125 yards in his Patriots debut:  “As far as I know they don’t put you in Canton after one game.”

I especially love the Rondo trade rumors!!  Even the baseball Dodgers wouldnt trade for such damaged goods.

Celtics are fine..remember Rondo is a point guard..they have plenty to back him up in his lose..
The other players will have to step up..like they have been doing..
    Stop the nonsense..
what’s next..Brady out of town too..? lol

Doc is just being emotional. Ainge needs to be realistic. Now is the right time to trade Pierce. You are not going anywhere with him and you won’t get anything for him the longer you wait.

    1) It’s Boston, 2) the team is up and down and hovering near .500 and 3) the team is not a real contender and nearing a total overhaul.  So, expect rumors.  A whole bunch of them.

I dont know how many of you out there have league pass, but I do.. and I watch the NBA all the time. Random games.. all the time.. I have to believe that most of the people coming up with these proposed trades dont actually watch alot of the NBA because 99% of them are ridiculous. People saying blow it up.. I dont think they actually know what that means.. how many years it will take to rebuild. Danny has done a pretty good job although he has his work cut out for him over the next couple of years.. Regarding this year, the Cs dont need to make a major move and dont need to blow it up. They have some nice rebuilding pieces already. There is only 1 Lebron and only 1 Durant out there.. You can blow up a team all you want but that is never going to change that fact.
