The Pats will have more than 100 yards rushing against Seattle. Brady will pick apart the DBs covering the middle of the field with Welker and Gronk. In this game the run will compliment a passing attack that Seattle will not be able to stop. The key will be completed passes over the middle. I think you misunderstand the importance of KG to the current celtics team.  If KG leaves, they will NOT be better.  Their defense will crumble and they will lose more games.  The fools on the media have been pumping the trade tires because there’s nothing else to talk about.  

People forget that the C’s were multiple bad refs away from the finals last year.  

I do realize his importance to the team, he is by far my favorite player. It’s not about being better this year, it’s about getting youth and cap room for this team down the road. They are not going to win this year, they have no shot, none. Next year they will be a year older and the team will be pretty much the same as it is now. So, KG and Pierce will play out their deals and retire and this team will have to start over from the ground up again. I hear a lot of talk about free agents and all that but this team has never signed a star free agent, NEVER, and I don’t think guys want to come and play here. So, my point is that they had a chance to get young talent to mix in with some of the younger guys here now and they didn’t do it for one reason or another.

How bout if Rose from Chicago never got hurt , The Celtics never sniff the Conf Finals and your post means nothing to begin with

loyalty.  the man is teaching a whole generation of youth in boston and beyond.  loyalty to your family.  honor your commitments to them.  that’s bigger than sports.  my respect for KG only grows.

many Celtics fans keep making the same mistake that you are. When the original big three retired the team entered the abyss because Len bias and Reggie Lewis died! When kg and pl retire, we have plenty of cap space…free agents will come to play with doc.

Listen…KG is a throwback to the days of Bird and Magic and you have to admire his loyalty. Still, the Clippers trade would have helped us in the long run. Getting a young center, and an up and coming PG who are both young would have helped us transition into a contender sooner than later. Getting Bledsoe would have allowed you to trade Rondo who would have brought a kings ransom in return. It is what it is but just pointing out the pro’s and con’s. At the end of the day I’m happy that KG and PP are still on the team. Hope they both retire Celtics.

I posted here, one month ago, that Danny would not trade either Garnett or Pierce.  Why?  Because Danny learned from Red, and Red was all about loyalty, almost to a fault.  Ask Larry.  Ask Kevin.  If they wanted to stay, he made it happen.  Larry, Kevin, Bill, Tommy, Cousy, Hondo, etc. etc, all Celtics for life.  They all did and continue to bleed green.  Just add Paul and KG to the mix. 

He IS the ULTIMATE player. I believe he does BLEED GREEN! Love you KG!!!!

The NBA is all about talent and if you don’t have an elite player or two, you aren’t winning. KG and Pierce are still good but not elite. The window has closed and it will take a miracle for it to be reopened. Dallas had Dirk that year who was ELITE and Cuban made the moves to get him better talent that year to win it all. Danny did not make that move. KG is a warrior no doubt, but you can’t hang on to the past, that’s how they 20 year drought started.

The team did not enter the abyss because of Len Bias, he died 6 years before Larry retired, he never signed a contract and never cost them a cent. Yes, Reggie’s death hurt, but he was not a superstar just a good player. This franchise was hurt because of standing pat and not preparing for the future. No free agents will come here because of Doc Rivers, he’s an okay coach but no one is dying to play for him. This market isn’t desireable to these guys, they want LA, NY or Miami. Let’s see if LBJ gives the C’s a sniff when he’s a free agent, bet he doesn’t even consider it.

The Bruins are absolute garbage. At least the injury riddled Celtics are entertaining to watch at times. B’s are the most pathetic excuse for a power play, in NHL history. It would almost be less painful tobe locked in a room for a day, forced to watch a Jersey shore marathon.

You realize Barbosa already said he wanted to come back? You realize Barbosa is  so tight with Jeff Green they went to Brazil during the all star break?  You realize you don’t speak for NBA players about who would want to come play for Doc? Reggie Lewis was way more than just a good player. He was at the time of this death at least Reggie Millers equal which was hardly just another good player. You want just another good player. Then you are talking about Jordan and Bledsoe, neither of whom has accomplished much of anything. You know what happens when you have a center who shoots 40% from the free throw line. You have to keep the ball out of his hands in crunch time. We sucked for so long because of poor decisions AFTER Larry and Kevin were gone, not because we kept them to long. On this last day of his life Red Auerbach’s turds still know more about basketball than you ever will. Just another big mouthed wannabe gm who doesn’t know crap.

Yeah, they’re garbage, garbage that won a championship more recently than the C’s and have a better shot at one this year then the C’s have in the next 20 years, so go watch Snookie you moron.

I think the one’s that are faulting KG for being too loyal were probably the same ones blaming Ray for leaving and showing no loyalty…this fan base can be very bipolar

Bias’ death had a big impact as it was coinciding with the begin of the decline and specifically when McHale, who was a little younger than Bird, Parish  and Johnson, played on that bad foot and was never the same after that.  Prior to that McHale was unstoppable.  Hindsight is 20-20, easy to say they should have done this or that, but they were still good up to the time Bird’s back went.  That last year was tough when he played in only 60% of the games.  Perhaps after that they could have made deals but that’s just easy to say.  I have faith in Danny’s ability to read the current NBA and to have the forsight to make moves like a chess player….thinking them through.  Look this team as depleted as it was last year almost beat Miami.  A piece hre a piece there who knows.

This is a chicken or the egg question.  Perhaps Doc retires when they all go (ya know like they’re saying about BB when Brady goes.)  Not saying either is remotely true, but perhaps Garnett and Pierce all agreed to stick around becasue of Doc and Doc agreed to stick around because of them all intertwined together.  I not saying one decision led to the other ….. but collectively.  I dunno.  I think the Perkins trade wasn’t good, but all the other have been OK.  As for FA’s, guys want to come here.  The only guy I can recall the past couple years was that guy West that went to the Pacers. 

Congenital heart condition?  I should be old enough to know, having been a fan since the mid sixties, but I don’t recall.  Didn’t they attribute the heart damage to his possible usage of cocaine? 

Oh that’s right 17 championships.Really, how many for the B’s? Which team has sold out more games? You’ll always lose this arguement. Watching the B’s power play is tooth achingly bad. Even Felger thinks the C’s willl go further.
