Key moment: Patriots drive towards a division title 12.02.12 at 4:24 pm ET

Stevan Ridley was huge as the Patriots put together a game-clinching drive. (AP)

The Dolphins had just cut the Patriots lead to 20-13 after a 33-yard Dan Carpenter field goal with 8:50 left in the fourth quarter.

The Patriots offense had been spotty in the second half after putting up 17 points in the first half, including a three-and-out to start the second half.

But the Patriots were dominant when they needed to be, orchestrating a 16-play, 77-yard drive and most importantly, consuming 7:18 of game clock and exhausting Miami’s final two timeouts.

The Patriots called 12 runs on the drive, including Tom Brady‘s fall to the ground on the final snap before Stephen Gostkowski‘s 21-yard field goal that gave New England a 23-13 lead.

Stevan Ridley was huge, carrying the ball 10 times for 46 yards on the drive.

Agree. Not to mention the refs got Pierce and Green in foul trouble, as well as letting the Knicks get away with whatever they wanted on defense. That’s why the Celts have had poor second halves this series. Furthermore, aren’t we supposed to have free speech in this country?

  • Dano50

Less than they earn from gamblers I “bet”.

  • cfn

Yes moron, he can have all the free speech he wants if he has the cash. Obviously you don’t really know what it means to have speech? Google it before you write about is my advise to you and maybe you will learn something as well as get some common sense.

If you don’t think the NBA officiating has been declining, then you are not watching the NBA.

  • Gman

Look, d***head, my point about free speech is you shouldn’t be fined by the NBA, or any sports league, for questioning the officiating. And especially the NBA, which is hands down the worst in any US sports league and has been for the last 20+ years.

Well for those who don’t already know the NBA is a fixed sporting event then wake up and smell the coffee! Since David Sterns became the Commish you could tell he has had his say on who will win and when! The legitimate sport left is WWE and that’s because they were at least honest enough to tell everyone up front that each Wrestling event is scripted and the results are known in advance of being displayed publicly. NFL,MLB,NHL and the NBA are all run by folks of questionable stature.

Doc Rivers does not know how to coach. Paul Pierce is the reason this team sucks turnover after turnover in critical times during the game. Pierce is wash up and gets away with hurting the team and they he laughs about it. Pierce sucks and Anthony is 100 times better so Rivers stop blowing smoke up every as—- because Pierce can.not play defense and is the slowest player in history of the Celtics and so out of shape. He has been with the Celtics 15 years and Only 1 ring because he wants to be hero and hog the ball. Boston has no change against New York.

  • Bill

Wow that’s real nice of you Doc, making light of a deceased quadriplegic.

  • DF

    Ugh. [Obligatory wheelchair joke]
