FOXBORO — WEEI.com Patriots reporters Mike Petraglia and Chris Price break down the 41-34 loss to the 49ers Sunday night at Gillette Stadium. The Patriots committed four turnovers and saw their seven-game winning streak come to an end. They now stand 10-4 on the season and fall to the No. 3 seed in the AFC playoff picture behind 12-2 Houston and 11-3 Denver. The top two seeds earn first-round byes in the playoffs.

KG and Paul Pierce will come out of the closet after this game there is nothing wrong with that. Trash talk to the Knicks is real brave when they are living off ONE World Championship 5 years ago. Too much BS over nothing.

Trash talk to the Celtics is real brave when they won a ONE Championship 41 years ago………….just sayin

      • Phil beats it

Phil, Tom, Pete, Mike, Yankee27…let’s look at your math skills for a moment. 1986 was 22 years before 2008…not 41. Now, if you want to go 41 years, they won in 1974, 1976, 1981, 1984, 1986 and 2008. That would add up to “6″ championships in 41 years….just sayin

Knicks have done next to nothing in their existence. 2 championships in 67 years!! Other than the Ewing teams of ’94 and ’99 they have barely even sniffed the playoffs. Sure, they will likely close out the series on the C’s, but they have little to boast about given their long streak of futility. The only team who has done less in NY is the J-E-T-S. So enjoy your Division title.

Play mad KG. Sox could use a strong effort from you tonight. Especially when the team forgets how to score in the second half.

  • Antonio

LOl……….love all the Knicks’ fans acting like their already the NBA champs. Since 1984 to last year (28 years) there has only been 8 different teams to win the NBA Champioship and none where the Knicks. Just putting this out there so the “What have you done lately people” are just aware………that is all.

    • Bruinman86

Exactly! Nothing else to cheer about in NY these days.

As long as terry can keep the gas on they’ve got a shot. Their main problem early in the series was the lack of scoring. Now they’ve got Terry, Green, KG, and PP firing on all cylinders. The Garden will be rocking Friday night, and if they can win, like Kevin Millar once said, “game 7 anything can happen”.

Good back to back games. Here is hoping that the Celtics can keep it up.

Interesting points about Carmelo and Smith being essentially uncoverable. I would disagree with Smith because he can be stopped. He relies on the outside shot to set up his drives, which makes him tough, but containable as long as they have someone up on him on the perimeter. They have done that 50 percent of the time this year with success. As for Anthony, he is much harder to cover. Celtics have guys who can play with him for short bursts – as evidenced the past few years – but it is tougher. He is a guy that can be distracted easily, however, which is the best way to defend him.

I dont think these a-hole clowns should joke and use the term funeral to begin with, but its especially in bad taste this week against Boston after what happened 2 weeks ago. What a serious bunch of losers some people are no matter how much money they have. Pathetic.

  • m16

Yes, Mike. No one can cover JR Smith, that is why he is paid 3 mil a year and was playing in China prior to NYK. No one can cover Melo, sadly the unguardable shot 0.449 on the season and 0.407 in this year’s playoffs.

  • 364NKL

Well, Mike, if the Knicks win this series, they are NOT beating Miami. Tell me their playoff success in the last 5 years???? Yup, that’s right. They suc ked.

  • antonio

    Yes they do!!!!!!!!

  • Mike beats it daily

They already proved YOU wrong doofus…you said it was a “sweep”…go sell crazy someplace else, we’re all stocked up here.

  • jj

Like the Sox had no chance down 0-3 to the Yankees right?

Well that is what happened to the Celtics they were missing wide open shots so stop fooling yourself

  • Mike beats it daily

    JJ….remember, Mike claims he’s a “real fan”…hang on…just a moment while I collect myself….I can’t stop laughing….

  • Bruinman86

You knnow, they are alos a surprise. Doing much better than I though they would given their injuries. jsut goes to show they just might be ready to move on from jeter, A-Roid, Granderson and Texiera. Team has heart.
