Its called preperation and points out an enormous change between the first game and next week. The first game was played with replacement refs and tempo could not be exploited. Over the course of the season the Patriots have become a well-oiled machine.

The Pats went “mano y mano” against the Texans tonight and ran the ball straight down their throats.  Good hard running by Vereen and Ridley all night.  Call it what you want, but quick snapping the defense isn’t “bitchassness”, it’s smart, and if you’ve prepared the right way, that wouldn’t happen as often.  It’s simply taking what the defense gives you.  A “gimmick” is more like what the Jets tried doing with Tebow on their punt team.

I also love when he contradicts himself, saying “can’t really respect it” in one comment, and then “their offense is good enough to be successful without that”.

Hey, the Ravens are a great team, and they deserve respect.  This type of nonsense is silly though.  The Pats did a great job of varying the snap count all night long.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m really starting to enjoy the way this team gets under everyone’s skin! There’s a lot of players for other teams that seem to be obsessed with the Pats.

So we now have to wait for the defense to take it’s time to get set and let them see what the Pats are doing and let them get set up to stop it instead of being IN the game at all times and being ready for anything.
It’s like saying that using an old antiquated way of doing things instead of being innovative is the ONLY way to do things.
They always say “keep your head on a swivel” in the NFL so why is this any different?
You need to be ready for anything the offense or the defense will throw at you within the rules and not complain about it if you can’t match what your opponent does.

The thing that really gets me is that that Ayanbadejo is an intelligent guy, was a history major at UCLA, writes intelligently for a newspaper in Santa Cruz on a number of topics and by all accounts is a well read individual so why would he take such an uneducated position on the Patriots offense and not see it for being the innovative offense that it is and that the Pats are merely exposing mismatches which is what ANY successful team does.
Maybe it was heat of the moment, heck even the most level headed amongst us says things from time to time we wish we had back when taking a moment to reflect upon it.
That said I want the Pats to do their talking on the field, soundly beat the Ravens and March to New Orleans, focused, ready and bring back another Lombardi trophy to New England.

Just a side note here but does anyone realize that were it not for a David Tyree “look what I found stuck to my helmet” catch and a spectacular catch by Mario Manningham that the Pats would have 5, not 3 SB wins?
AND that close AFC championships game against the Colts that the Colts squeaked out over the pats 38-34 which really came down to 2 plays and would have given Belichick , Brady and the rest of the Pats a 6th SB title?
