Gronkowski only one missing from Pats practice 01.17.13 at 1:20 pm ET
By

FOXBORO — Rob Gronkowski was the only player missing from the start of Patriots practice Thursday afternoon as the team went through a session on he lower fields behind Gillette in sweats and shells. (Gronkowski, who suffered an arm injury in last Sunday’s divisional playoff win over the Texans, is expected to be sidelined for the rest of the postseason.) The only player who returned to practice was cornerback Alfonzo Dennard, who missed Wednesday practice because he was attending a required pretrial hearing in Nebraska related to his felony arrest last April for allegedly assaulting a police officer.

Don’t understand Valentine’s bullpen management. If Tazawa was so good, why take him out? Let him pitch as much as possible as yet another starter is LOUSY and there are many innings still to go. I also did not understand Aceves staying in after a disasterous 9th inning. As much as Tazawa should have stayed in Aceves should have been yanked. Another consideration if the game had gone longer is which starter was going to come in?

Agree that Valentine mismanaged the bullpen. Breslow should have been in there to start the 10th inning to face lefty Kendry Morales. And forget Valentine’s excuse about the Angels being a right handed line-up. Aceves clearly did not have it. And wasn’t one if the reasons we traded reliable Matt Albers for Breslow was the fact Breslow gets righties out equally as well?

theres so many things wrong with thhis team pitching our starters give up to many runs.  most of the hitters are struggeling against rookie pitchers  . the attitude is that of a losing team   bobby v is not all of there problems .i think they need to shake up the team  theyres too much talent to end up in last plac e  there embarasing themselves as well as the fans

Hmmm… Sox find ANOTHER way to lose…but hey, don’t despair…how many more games are there…35 or so?  That’s 35 MORE ways to lose – think of the possibilities.

I agree on Tazawa.  Taking him out really surprised me.  He had thrown 13 pitches, and they were only through 4 innings and on their third pitcher.  When you have (at least) five innings to go, it seems weird to pull a reliever who is used to long outings.

Gronkowski was missing from the start of practice? What the h e l l is the matter with you people?
Wasn’t Edelman missing too? How’bout Brian Waters? Jeff Demps? Any other great players that you want to mention who obviously and painfully aren’t available for the Pats Super Bowl run this year?  Why don’t you go ahead and remind us how his functional absence doomed the team last year? STOP mentioning Gronk in the injury reports! He’s done, we get it. Do you?       Sorry.

  • Pats

Oh god can you imagine if the Patriots go to the superbowl? They will be telling us everyday that he wasn’t at practice….That’s all they will talk about Gronk Gronk Gronk Gronk Gonk

  • WHITEY

Sorry sir, but are you aware that Edelman and Demps are on injured reserve, and Waters is long gone!!  Gronk, I believe has not been placed on injured reserve yet, therefore, he is listed on the injury report…Why all the hostility anyway???  Did the article upset you that much???  I’m sure you’re just as disappointed as the rest of us Pats fans are about Gronk’s injury, but relax a bit..  The writer is just doing his job, so if you don’t want to hear about it, then don’t read the article….The title of the article clearly states the nature of it’s contents, so if you can’t deal with it, then fli by it next time…..Just saying…..

Reading your overwhelmingly rational and measured reply a calm and stoic state came over me like I’d never known before. Wow. Then I snapped out of it and realized this is just a sports talk website where people go to have some fun commmenting. Clearly I know the status of Edelman, Demps, Waters. Just having FUN. Your misapprehension and nauseating pablum isn’t part of it.

  • WHITEY

Unfortunately these sports talk websites attract people like yourself, who have nothing positive to say.  I attempted to be somewhat polite despite my disdain for you’re morose comments.  Let me tell you sir, the only thing that is nauseating to me, is the thought of you sitting by you’re computer in mom’s basement, with you’re thesauras in hand, attempting to sound intelligent.  You sir are an arse!!!   Have a great day!!

  • Choflo36

    Morose? Hey Whitey, relax…a bit.
