Perhaps the offense needs to take some responsability because if the Pats were stealing signals the did it poorly since they scored 10 points during times when the signals were being sent.

I don’t remember him bring a factor in that game. I guess I don’t blame him and I wish goodell would have made the tapes public. Just wondering, would a pregame walk thru even show new plays and D tapes would not show new plays . From what I heard fox say the pregame stuff goes over the first few plays they will run and it wouldn’t make much difference anyway. We have won a ton of games since including division and conference championships. The two superbowl losses were close and a play going differently in either game would have resulted in two more wins. Fact is you all have trouble admitting the Patriots are the best team of the 1st decade with or without spygate.

The Pats defense hit their receivers every chance they could and threw off the timing routes as well as made them drop a few possible catches as a result of those hits.  If that game was played 10 times, Pats probably would have only won maybe 3 times.  If the Pats knew every play before it happened, then it would have been a 14-0 shutout. Bottom line:  One team showed up, the other didn’t, case closed.  Move on Faulk-Head.

For someone who likes to say, “Let’s move on”, you sure have a hard time doing so yourself.  And just look at Faulk here.  The guy is admitting he’s still not over it, despite the fact there is no evidence to support his claims.  So since the Patriots were able to defend against plays the Rams hadn’t ran all year, it had to be because the Patriots cheated?  That is absolutely ridiculous, and even more so when you consider the fact that Faulk actually played the game.  The plays he is referring to came down to execution and who beat who matchup-wise.  That’s why the Patriots were “ready” for them.  The Patriots out-executed and out-played the Rams, and they absolutely deserved to win that game.

I’ll say it again; every team is allowed to film people’s defensive signals from up in the booth.  It’s been done every single season by every single team.  You’re not allowed to do it from the field.  It’s a technicality, not “cheating” like many people like to put it.  Every team changes their signals from game to game because of how much film is out there, and the fact that the Pats are still have the best winning % since “Spygate” just shows you that the cameras mean nothing.  A fluke catch by David Tyree and a drop by Wes Welker is all that separates the Patriots from winning two more championships.  Don’t tell me the Patriots gained some sort of competitive advantage; it’s all about execution and out-playing your opponent (along with a little luck).

Just like he accuses “yahoos” of throwing logic out the window after big-game losses, he too throws all logic to the wind and tries dumbing down the game of football and the legacy of Tom Brady & the Patriots’ organization.  I guess his big game against the Texans didn’t count for anything.  I mean, I guess it truly isn’t really a big deal to avoid being one-and-done in the playoffs these days.  Just ask Peyton Manning.   I’m sure he’d tell you it’s not that big a deal either.

Brady’s had some clunkers, and he’s had some stinkers.  We get it.  It’s been a mixed bag for him over the years.  That still doesn’t change the fact he easily could have been the Superbowl MVP in 2008 if not for the Tyree play for leading the Patriots down the field on a huge TD drive in the latter part of the 4th quarter.  It doesn’t change the fact the Patriots haven’t had a defense that you can rely on to come up with plays when it matters most since 2004.

When you’re expected to win the SB virtually every year (how many times in the past decade have the Pats been dubbed the favorite to win the SB by the oddsmakers? 4 or 5 times at least?), you’re going to have disappointing exits.  The fact is, you still need a pretty decent, if not good defense to win it all.  The two teams playing in the SB this season are yet another testament to that.  On one side, you’ve got the Ravens who have gotten hot & healthy at the right time, and on the other, you have a stout 49ers D that has been solid pretty much all year.

I can’t take so much time out of my day to spell things out for people, but sometimes I just feel the need to put out these little reminders.

Grow up and become a man take responsibility. The Rams lost because Marshall Faulk sucked and then he sat out the end of the game. I did not hear Marshall complain that 2 weeks before they cheated the Buccaneers out meeting the Pats in the Superbowl . The play was so bad that the rules committee changed the rule immediately as soon as the season ended. Grow up you little baby and become a man. 

Phillip Rivers  wore a large white wristband because they changed the # of the plays twice a quarter he said so in an interview. Bill studied film to learn what his opposition did in certain situations. It was not to find out a Marshall Faulk was running left on play # 15 because they were changing the # constantly. Bill was learning that on third and 1 they normally went that side. The Patriots won 3 SB’s because Bill and Tom put in 20 hours a day studying. Thats also why the run is over because Tom has a family now and does not put that same amount of time studying.  

Just so I’m clear, going to TWO MORE Super Bowls doesn’t count, only winning them? And here I was thinking that even making the SB was a huge feat that many teams never accomplish. I’m glad you are here to set us all straight.

No one is saying the “cheating” was ok because it was a long time ago. The “cheating” 2002-2003 Patriots went 9-7 and didn’t even make the playoffs. The “cheating” 2005-2006 Patriots were one and done in the playoffs. The “busted and no longer cheating” 2007-2008 Patriots broke offensive records and went undefeated in the regular season, and missed winning the SB by “thismuch”. 

Just keep cherry picking whatever suits your argument to console yourself over your own team’s failures.

And as far as Patriots vs. Rams, you don’t win games by throwing interceptions and fumbling the ball 3 times.

 The facts are if was not for Oakland you could take home the losers trophy which is the only trophy SD will ever see. Listen to your own QB Phillip Rivers he knows that the player # were changed 8 times during that game. The stupidiest part is so does Marshall Faulk. Here`s what I`ll never get over.

21 weeks of every Patriot accomplishment being questioned.
In week two aganist San Diego, Andrea Kreamer, before kickoff saying they were investigating reports that Chargers playbooks were missing…only to never hear about it again.
NFL people saying it goes on all the time, including a story about the KC-Oak rivalry in the 60`s where it was common to find team officials in a tree with pad and pencil, watching the opponents practices.
Great football minds like Sen. Arlen Spector, continuing to push for sanctions againist the Pats and coach Belichick including on Superbowl Sunday.
Officials saying they were reaching to throw a flag for holding against the Giants on the last drive…but didn`t.
Officials saying they were going to blow the whistle for “in the grasp” on the last drive…but didn`t.
And my #1 pet peeve
In the post game interview with Antonio Pierce, he said the Giants knew what play the Patriots were going to run before they ran it, and not one media member, local or national asked him to clarify. Not a unfair question based on what the Pats dealt with all season.

The Giants deserved to win, but there are less questions to answer if the Pats loss. I really believe the NFL wasn`t above influencing a close game.

Finally, I believe Belichick and the Pats fell on their swords. They could have opened up a can of worms that would have exposed most if not all NFL teams. They took the high road…. and have been paying for it ever since.

Every Team in the NFL did the same thing at that time, the real crime was, that not one active coach came out in his defense, not necessarily admitting that they still did it but admitting that it had been a practice that they all had taken part in, in previous years, prior the Commissioners’ Letter of that year.

Such drivel! Jimmy Jones has publicly admitted that every coach he knows did the same thing. The Rams had a game of smash-mouth football thrown at them and they couldn’t man up and overcome it. If the Rams were so great then why haven’t they been back to the Superbowl since? The Commisioner came out against the practice AFTER the Pats beat the Rams. What a poor loser!

The time to move on has long since past, Marshall.  Also, the words are “run” and “ran.”  You might want to learn how to use them in a grammatically correct way.

1. There is a video breakdown of the Walsh tapes on NFL.com… and Marshall Faulk  is even one of the ones doing the breakdown.
2. If the Rams don’t change their defensive signals at all during the year, (and we managed to steal them in week ~12) then they deserve to be stolen. This isn’t pee wee leagues.
3. At no point did Matt Walsh ever admit he had any goal line footage, the Super Bowl pre practice story was all about media hype.
4. If anything Goodell went over board on punishing BB, considering every other video taping violation that has occurred in the NFL came with half the punishment at the most, if the Pats suck at the time then the Pats don’t lose a first round draft pick and BB gets 1/4 the fine.
5. Bountygate was about a team trying to ruin athletes lives, careers, and ability to take care of their families. This doesn’t compare to any video taping that was been proven to occur.

You could argue that Antowain Smith actually outplayed Faulk during that game, at least rushing-wise.  Not that Faulk had a bad game, but if he had the type of rushing performance that Smith had, maybe he wouldn’t be so whiny about that game.

Marshall every game could be blamed on something either a call by a referee or something else.  Grow up you cry baby.  There were no tapes ever found and every other coach interviewed with the exception of Mangenius said they did the exact same thing Bill did but in different ways.  And how did they go on to win two more Super Bowls?  They are a good football team and the Rams did not get it done in that game.  Take some responsibility or shut up.
