Ed Reed: Bill Belichick a ‘good’ coach, but I plan on being a Raven

On “NFL AM” Monday morning on the NFL Network, Ravens cornerback Ed Reed — who is set to hit free agency later this month — was asked if the Patriots would have won a Super Bowl with Reed on their roster.

“They’d win two [Super Bowls]. At the Super Bowl, I was asked if I would play for Coach Belichick and my answer was: ‘What player wouldn’t play for Coach Belichick?’ He is a good football coach, has a great mind for football. I met Coach Belichick at a Pro Bowl. He is a great guy, great competitor and seems to understand his players.  I was just asked the question at the time [but] I am a Raven, plan on being a Raven. I couldn’t see myself anywhere else, but if it happens, I am a football player, I can adapt to any situation.”

really though they shouldn’t be spending good $$ on a 35 year old player.  It’s just media hype and specualtion.  This team issolid and they do it the right way.  They’ll likely find the next Ed Reed vs paying the current one.  Same for Freeney and Abraham.

he’s been looking for next ed reed for 8 years.  Hasn’t found squat.

That’s true, but Ed Reed 2013 isn’t Ed Reed 2004 either, and that’s who the Patriots are looking for. Better to spend the money else where…

I don’t think they would have to overpay for Ed Reed. I think he would want decent money but not break the bank. For a two year deal, i’d do it. This team is running out of time, we can’t wait for an Ed Reed to develop, he’d be the best safety on the team at 35 and he’s a winner. I’d love him and Freeney/Abraham if the price is right.

I guess Suggs is wrong, not everyone hates the Patriots!!

    • Coolmt02

Reed was saying he likes Belichick … He never said he likes the Patriots as an organization or as a team. Reed said Belichick was a good coach and a great guy … nothing about the organization.

      • Natedizel

Belichick is the face of the organization. (so is Brady)…If you hate Belichick or Brady you had the patriots.

    Ed Reed’s not leaving

  • mikepatriot

keep him there, i don’t wan em’ Too much b.s. talk that is sounding like the equivalent of a yankee die hard player. I’d rather have a revis who would probably be very bitter for not being considered a priority and would have something tto prove, play with an edge. Revis, slightly different position is also YOUNGER. Screw Reed.

Do we have a better chance with Ravens safety ed reed?

  • The Str8 Truth Folks

Seriously they don’t need Ed Reed on the Ravens…They don’t have the cap space and money for him anymore. Reed could very well get picked up by the Patriots…If we can get that 6’1″ corner in the draft and keep talib and have Reed in the back with Mccourty? wed be straight! Straight to the next SB to beat Peyton Manning…That is because Von Miller thinks theyre goin to the big game next season…
Peyton Manning is the least clutch postseason QB there is and people don’t realize it…He is an under .500 winning percentage in post season and worse at home games in post…We got this…
