Stevan Ridley ruled out, Matthew Slater returns to practice, ‘doubtful’ for Sunday

FOXBORO — Stevan Ridley will miss his first game of the season Sunday in Cincinnati as the running back has been ruled out with a knee injury. Ridley missed all three practices this week. His snaps will be replaced by the combination of LeGarrette Blount and Brandon Bolden.
Matthew Slater returned to practice Friday for the first time since breaking his left wrist in the season opener in Buffalo. He was limited and listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game at Paul Brown Stadium.
Danny Amendola (groin), Rob Gronkowski (back/forearm) and linebacker Jerod Mayo (ankle) were among 11 players limited at practice on Friday. Amendola has missed three games since injuring his groin in the season opener. He is officially questionable to return Sunday after missing the last three games. Gronkowski is likely to miss another week, postponing his return to Week 6 against the Saints at home.
Safety and special teamer Nate Ebner (ankle) was removed from the injury report and fully participated Friday.
Vontaze Burfict (neck), the Bengals’ hard-hitting inside linebacker, returned to practice on Friday and is probable to play. Leon Hall is doubtful with a hamstring while defensive end Michael Johnson (concussion) and cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick (hamstring) are questionable.
