The Patriots announced Sunday night that Leon Washington has been downgraded to out for Monday’s game against the Panthers.

The veteran running back/kick returner has been dogged by injuries for the better part of the 2013 season, and showed up on the injury report with an ankle issue that had him limited over the course of the week. The 31-year-old has played in two games this season, and has one rush for one yard on the year.

Washington joins cornerback Alfonzo Dennard and safety Steve Gregory as out for Monday’s game.
