Donald Trump says Tom Brady voted for him, reads letter from Bill Belichick at New Hampshire rally

11.07.16 at 9:34 pm ET

Donald Trump held one last rally in Manchester, New Hampshire Monday night on the eve of the election and brought up two local sports icons — Tom Brady and Bill Belichick.

Trump said Brady called him today and said he voted for him.

“Great guy,” Trump said. “Great friend of mine. Great, great champion. Unbelievable winner. He called today and he said, ‘Donald, I support you. You’re my friend and I voted for you.’ I want to tell you this guy is a champ and he is a winner and he is a great person. So I said, ‘Tom, you voted for me, you support me, am I allowed to say it tonight to this massive crowd in New Hampshire?’ He said, ‘If you want to say it, you can say it.'”

It’s worth noting Brady said on Kirk & Callahan Monday morning he did not vote yet (listen at 13:25 mark) and early voting in Massachusetts ended on Friday. He did say he would reveal who he voted for on the show next Monday.

Trump then read a letter that he said was written to him from Belichick: You have dealt with an unbelievable slanted and negative media and have come out beautifully. You’ve proved to be the ultimate competitor and fighter. Your leadership is amazing. I have always had tremendous respect for you, but the toughness and perseverance you have displayed over the past year is remarkable. Hopefully tomorrow’s election results will give the opportunity to make America great again.
