When we we’re blogging at our previous address, we had an occasional feature called “Behind Enemy Lines” that looked at what the newspapers in the city of the upcoming opponent were saying about the Patriots. In advance of Thursday’s preseason opener against Philadelphia, here’s an earnest attempt to bring that back:
•Don’t expect to see a lot of the Philadelphia regulars when the Eagles take the field Thursday night against the Patriots. According to Pro Football Talk, Stacy Andrews, Shawn Andrews, Kevin Kolb and Brian Westbrook will be among the Philly starters who will be held out of the game.

A cheap excuse for us to shoehorn in a plug for one of the great TV shows of all time...
•Eagles coach Andy Reid told Philadelphiaeagles.com Wednesday that the starters will likely play a quarter and a half.
•In that same vein, the Eagles concluded training camp with another injury. NJ.com has the story of Todd Herremans, who will miss the game against the Patriots with a foot injury. But there’s also some good news for Philly, as new quarterback Adam DiMichele — the least manly last name of any quarterback in the NFL in many years — met the media for the first time.
•The Philadelphia Daily News says the Eagles are really interested in seeing what tight end Rob Myers can do tomorrow night in the preseason opener against New England. They also have a story about how Philadelphia will use Thursday night’s game to try and assess their defensive end situation.
•The Inquirer has a look at Ellis Hobbs’ excitement about facing his old team. Hobbs has apparently bene pretty animated in camp — his first with the Eagles — and explains why: “Off the field, I’m pretty mild-mannered. But on the field, I let loose. I think that was one thing in New England that I didn’t get to express as much at the end of my career for different reasons or whatever. You go back to my rookie year and it was just letting loose and having fun.”
•And here’s a straight-up, position-by-position breakdown of the game.
