Pro Days starting to wind down, but Patriots still out and about 04.03.10 at 1:00 am ET

UCLA's Brian Price (92) has apparently gotten the attention of the Patriots. (AP)

The Pro Day schedule is starting to wind down, but there are three more Patriots-related notes worth passing along:

UCLA defensive tackle Brian Price will visit the Patriots before the draft, according to NFL.com. (It wasn’t specified in the story, but it’s reasonable to infer that this means Price will be one of the Patriots’ 30 pre-draft visits.) The 6-foot-1, 301-pounder was named the Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year last season, recording 48 tackles, 23 1/2 for losses and seven sacks. Known as an explosive player, at the combine, the 20-year-old hit 34 reps and ran the 40-yard dash in 5.12 seconds. He also posted a 28 1/2 inch vertical leap and an 8-foot broad jump.

As far as defensive tackles in this year’s draft, it’s all about Ndamukong Suh and Gerald McCoy. But that’s OK with Price, who is considered by many to be a late first-round talent.

“I really like that. I like being low key for now,” he said at the combine in February. “After the combine, hopefully, my name will be mentioned up there in the spotlight but right now I’m just taking it easy and when it’s time to compete, I’ll turn it up a notch.”

There’s been a lot of talk about how the fact that it’s going to be harder for the Patriots to find their type of guys because so many former Patriots’ assistants and front office folks are spread out around the league. That might be true when it comes to North Carolina State center Ted Larsen. According to multiple reports, Patriots offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia was at Larsen’s recent Pro Day, and was joined by former Patriots’ personnel guy (and current Falcons GM) Thomas Dimitroff.

Larsen is a 6-foot-3, 306-pounder who is an intriguing prospect. A three-year defensive lineman, he was asked to move to center by N.C. State coach Tom O’Brien during 2008 spring drills. He stayed their his final two years as a collegian, and anchored the Wolfpack offensive line as a junior and senior. According to NFLDraftScout.com, Larsen was in for 730 snaps from scrimmage in 2009, and earned the team’s Jim Ritcher Award for the Most Outstanding Offensive lineman.

Former Patriots coaches and front office people are also sniffing around Central Florida defensive tackle Torell Troup. Troup, a 6-foot-2, 315-pounder, has already worked out for the Patriots, but has also already worked out for the Chiefs, Browns and Broncos, all organizations that have lifted liberally from the New England front office and coaching staff. (He’s also visited with the Lions and Saints.) A two-time All-Conference USA selection, Troup started 39 of his 47 career games in college, and finished with 105 tackles, 24 of which were for a loss.

If the Patriots do end up selecting him, it’ll be good news for Troup, who says that Vince Wilfork is his favorite NFL nose tackle.

“Just watching his game, he’s just such a dominant player,” Troup said at the combine. “When he gets down in his stance, when he comes off the ball, nobody can handle him. He gets in the backfield, if he gets a hold of that running back, it’s a done deal.”

Let us not forget that Reagan’s future vp (Bush) and cia chief (Casey) met with the Ayatolla Khomeini behind the back of the then-current Carter administration (treason) and arranged for Iran to keep the American hostages until after the election. In return Iran got, at the very least, a conduit thru which to illegally receive missiles and other armaments–which came to light when traitor Ollie North got busted taking the missile $$$ and giving it to friends in Central America who turned out, naturally enough, to be drug smugglers USA-bound. Ah, the good old days…
